The Dark Side – Email Scamming

lottery email scam

Just received an email this morning, and, of course it is a another email scam. However, when doing research on this little bad boy, I was surprised to find a number of comments on blogs which reported people had “fallen for” this dirty trick.

What was really hilarious was that I did a search on the ticket number – a seemingly 14 digit “unique” number and found about 24,300 results in Google – Thank God these “scammers” are stupid enough to keep using the same number over & over.

Here is the email for your edification – should you see something like this do NOT be fooled by it. Do NOT give your personal information out in response to these sorts of inquiries.

What is really interesting is that I have not really been receiving any large amount of spam comments for months. about 36 hours after posting this article, I have started receiving a lot more spam comments to the blog and more “sweepstakes” spam to the bloglyne email address… interesting.

Of course, the national lottery is renowned for forcing it’s employees to use their own email accounts for official business, even if they have spanish yahoo accounts.

It’s one up from winning the lottery in Canada and having to send money to claim your prize…

Exactly, that is why I refused to take the job they offered… there was no expense account and we had to use our own email accounts!
